The Los Angeles Times’ Hero Complex brings us a new photo from The Hobbit, which you can see below.
The pic features Martin Freeman as Bilbo. He’s covered in what appears to be spider webs and is clutching his sword Sting in what looks to be a downward striking death blow. I haven’t read the book in years, but if I had to guess I’d say this is the scene Bilbo saves the dwarfs from the large spiders.
The Hobbit has not had an easy road to theatres. Between legal battles and Guillermo del Toro opting not to direct I’m surprised it’s releasing at all. Fortunately, the legal matters were solved and Pater Jackson stepped up top once again give us a trilling adventure through Middle Earth.
As much as I’m looking forward to this, I wasn’t thrilled with the trailer until I saw it in 3D on a big screen. I guess my iPhone screen doesn’t do justice to a film of this scope.
