New Pic of Henry Cavill as Superman

DCU Movie Page tweeted a new pic of Henry Cavill in his Superman costume from the upcoming reboot Man of Steel. In the pic, which you can see below, Cavill is posing with a young fan. I bet it was a thrill for the little dude to get a pic with Superman!

What do you think of the images coming from Man of Steel so far? I’m not crazy about the costume design, but its hard to judge until we get a trailer and can see it in action.

Man of Steel comes to theatres June 14, 2013. Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) is directing from a script by David S Goyer. In addition to Cavill as Supes, the film also stars Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Lawrence Fishburne and Christpher Meloni.

What do you think? Do you trust in Snyder? Does Christpher Nolan more or less handpicking him raise your level of confidence? I’m sure with Snyder we’ll get a much more action oriented movie than we did with Superman Returns.

Dude – Is the Super-suit made from kick-ball material? I’m channeling my inner Patches O’ Houlihan from “Dodgeball”: “If you can learn to dodge a meteor, you can learn to dodge a ball!”

That little guy must’ve had a very good day… Super cute picture.
Please, just make sure… That kid… Cannot super-push a piano.
I’ll wait to see how the suit looks in Snyder super-slow-mo.
At least Cavill is a solid actor/thespian, which is nice.

Come on now…they had to learn something from superman returns. I think the movie will be solid.

Love it. They’ve gotten rid of the outdated Red panties.

Its just now outdated? Its been part of his costume since he was created. Capes go back aways as well junior, as do boots. Maybe he should have a hat on backwards or some Ed Hardy attire. Retarded as is his “Shoneys big Boy” hair.

@sircadlab get a clue buddy! Superman’s costume has evolved several times over the years. Superman of 2012 has no read underpants. This costume looks great to me and will look even better in motion.

There will always be a problem with Superman movies…and that is that there are two different types of Superman fan.
There are what I call the casual Superman fans who watched Superfriends as a kid and saw the Richard Donner Movies and the later cartoons.
Then there are the diehard comic book fans who along with the above read the Superman comic books for a good length of time.

These two groups have completely different perceptions of the Superman franchise which usually leads to some pretty entertaining arguments on the message boards.
Add to all this the fact that there are two different basic groups of “genre” fan:
Those around 35 years and older(my generation i’m 40)who grew up in the late 70′s to late 80′s
and those who are teen to late 20′s today who grew up in the reality obsessed 90′s and 2000′s.
It is only recently that i have come to realize that although all of these people are genre fans, the two generational age groups have COMPLETELY different tastes, opinions, ect. for the most part.
There are those that fall in the middle who appreciate both perspectives but it is not a large percentage.
A Superman fan who is 24 now and never read the comics will most likely not see the character the same way i do as a 40 year old who has read them.
This is not a judgement call, just the way things go as time passes and new generations are born.

Who needs to get a clue when since 1938 a character has had a pretty universal design. Yes a nerd could argue “S” designs and what not. But Jim Lees retarded costume came out..two months ago? Two months out of how many cumulative months since 1938?(888 -2…). Again he has also always had a cape. I suppose the “Godzilla of 1998″ ran and was very vulnerable, how’d that workout? This is almost as silly as the “superman red/blue” days.

My SIX YEAR OLD says “why does his costume look funny?”

That was pretty well said, Pfunk!
