Little Lana Lang Has Been Cast for ‘Man of Steel’

Not too much is known plot-wise regarding Man of Steel, Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot due out June 14, 2013, but we do know of a new cast member thanks to the Superman Super Site. Actress Jadin Gould will appear as young Lana Lang in the upcoming film. You may remember her from last year’s Battle: Los Angeles.

Judging from set pics and other casting, namely Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Jonathan and Martha Kent, we can make an educated guess that some of this takes place in Smallville. Considering actors have been cast as younger versions of Clark Kent I would think a bit of the film, or atleast flachbacks, also fetaure Clark’s childhood.

Just please not another origin story. I’m getting sick of those, but my guess is we’re getting at least a partial retelling of how Kal-El got to Earth, because noone’s heard that before.

I remember Snyder saying some time ago that he wasn’t using John Williams’ Superman theme. He wants this to be a complete departure from the other films. How do you feel about this? Is that theme so associated with Superman that nothing else will do?

I’m willing to give Snyder and Nolan the benefit of the doubt, but John Williams’s SUPERMAN music is as much Superman in my mind as the blue suit, cape, and spitcurl.
