UPDATE: ‘The Crow’ Got A Director Plus Jesse Wigutow Set To Write The Reboot

UPDATE: According to Variety, Relativity Media got F. Javier Gutierrez to direct “The Crow.”   Gutierrez directed “Before the Fall”  about a planet killing meteorite that will arrive on earth in 72 hours.  He will direct “The Crow” now being written by Jesse Wigutow.  Almost a year Fangoria mentioned that Gutierrez was attached to direct the feature but now its official.

Now that Relativity Media and The Weinstein Company hugged it out and settled the lawsuits for the remake of “The Crow,” Deadline is now reporting that Jesse Wigutow is in negotiations to write the script for the feature.

“The Crow,” based on the comic created by James O’Barr. The reboot will focus on the character of Eric Draven infamously played in the 1994 film by Brandon Lee.

Jesse Wigutow already some projects set up like “Irreparable Harm” for HBO Films, he also rewrote Robert Ludlum’s “The Osterman Weekend” for Summit Entertainment. Wigutow recently wrote a Steve McQueen biopic based on the book “Steve McQueen: Portrait Of An American Rebel.”
