After ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ lit up the box office this past summer, Paramount Pictures couldn’t put the series to rest with a sound mind. There’s going to be a fourth, and director Michael Bay is said to be returning to the helm.
A source on the film has told Badass Digest that audiences shouldn’t expect the hokey vibe that ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ predominately had. Instead:
“Michael realized it [the fourth film] needs to be more like the last hour [of Dark of the Moon].“
The intense action from the final act of ‘Dark of the Moon’ may be carrying over, but according to an interview that E! had with actor, Josh Duhamel, the cast likely is not. He said:
“I don’t think anybody’s doing it. I know Shia [LaBoeuf]‘s not doing it. I don’t think Tyrese or Rosie [Huntington-Whiteley] or anybody else is doing it.“
That’s quite the statement. But maybe what the ‘Transformers’ series needs is a breath of fresh air? In the cartoons, the warring factions have gotten by just fine by introducing new human leads, or even doing away with them altogether. The latter doesn’t seem likely, but a charming substitute for LaBoeuf could surely work out.
It seems to be the hip thing to do these days to hate on ‘Transformers,’ particularly after the first sequel. But if the action took on a ‘Dark of the Moon’ vibe, and the cast becomes fresh, is this a film that goes on your radar?
