What we see is Dame Judi Dench as M looking over something on her computer with Oscar winning director Same Mendes behind her.

Here’s what Mendes had to say about directing a Bond film:

“The roots of my doing this Bond movie start way before anybody approached me because, like everyone else, I have my own personal relationship with Bond which began when I was I suppose about nine or ten years old. I’ve always been a fan of the movies.”

It will be interesting to see what Mendes does with the character and how he handles the action sequences. To my knowledge he’s never done a full on action film.

I revisited Mendes’ first film, the Best Picture winner American Beauty. I remember loving it when it came out. I think I even went to see twice in theatres. I’d have to say it doean’t hold up at all, in my opinion anyway.

Daniel Craig returns as Bond, with Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris and Albert Finney in supporting roles.
