‘Brave’ Sneak Peek Trailer

Disney/Pixar has released this brand new sneak peek trailer for their upcoming animated pic “Brave,” which follows an impetuous Scottish princess (voiced by Kelly MacDonald, star HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire”) who’s determined to carve her own path in life.

The film also co-stars the voice talents of Emma Thompson, Billy Connolly, Julie Walters, Kevin McKidd, Craig Ferguson, and Robbie Coltrane.

Have a look at the sneak peek trailer below.

Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In “Brave,” a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts.

Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Wise Woman (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.

“Brave” is set to hit theaters on June 22, 2012.

Why do I see this as one of the rarest occurrences in Pixar’s histoy: A flop?

this is a perfect example of what pixar said they were going to do in the first place. make movies they WANT to make, tell stories they WANT to tell. this is the first pixar film i’ve seen in a long time that looks like its not marketed to little kids to make money.

CARS 2 was a mess and felt like an advertisement. no real invested interest in story telling.

people like ^ can see a flop all they want, i see a film that doesn’t look like it has a built in audience but GREAT potential to be a good story telling experience.

i for one am actually excited.

i’m glad pixar is actually making a movie for themselves, 9 times out of 10 audiences find its what they were looking for all along.
