MGM Has Someone In Mind for ‘Robocop’

MGM knows who they want for Robocop. Deadline New York brings word the studio has put an offer out to Joel Kinnaman. Who is this Kinnaman guy you may ask? He’s from AMC’s The Killing and can be seen in theatres right now in Safe House.

The reboot of Robobcop has had a bit of a struggle getting into production. Darren Aronofsky was attached to direct, but that fell through and now we have Elite Squad‘s Jose Padilha on board. It seems like it might just happen this time; whether or not that’s a good thing is yet to be seen.

What do you think of Kinnaman? I haven’t seen The Killing or Safe House so I can’t really form an opinion.

    Kinda scrawny for the role of Alex Murphy, no?

    Also, has too much of a baby face regardless of the goatee-stache.
    I always envisioned Alex Murphy as an almost grizzled experienced cop whose biggest asset to  Robocop and the Robocop program was his street smarts and years of cop instinct and experience.

    Kinnaman looks like a rookie straight out of the Academy.
    Even his character in the Killing is just not believable as a detective cop.

    Looks like? Have you fucking watched his performance – that’s what it count’s
    And it was about time, i just can’t wait to see this one. By the way does anybody know what the hell is happening with Sony’s Masters Of The Universe?

    If any reboot can top the original, made 25 years ago, I’ll be first in line! However I doubt it can be done!

    It will be all CGI and f%@#!ng 3D!

    If for some reason anyone hasn’t seen it, please do so immediately!
