Actor Michael Shannon was at the Independent Spirit Awards the other day and got cornered by a dude from MTV. During the brief interview Shannon teased us a bit with the voice he used for General Zod in Superman: The Man of Steel. Check it out below.
Seriously, could Shannon look less interested in talking to that guy? He keeps looking away and you can tell he’d rather be anywhere but there. Maybe if the interviewer had a bit of skills Shannon would be more into it?
IFC (Independent Film Channel) also had chance to speak with Shannon and also asked about Zod. There’s no video, but I do have a snippet from the Interview here:
“He’s actually a not very scary guy. He’s just trying to do his job, just like anybody.
“I don’t know, you know? I don’t want to say. Some people might hate him, some people might love him. But I’m fond of him. I respect him.”
You can tell when talking to IFC, as well as MTV, Shannon doesn’t want to give anything up on the character. In both cases he just gives us a little, but nothing very substantial. I’m looking forward to him in the part. Who knows, maybe this will become one of the legendary screen villains like Heath Ledgers’ Joker?
Man of Steel opens next year (WTF? A whole year+ of waiting???) on June 14, 2013.
