‘Transformers 4′ Said To Take On A Different Tone With An All-New Cast

After ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ lit up the box office this past summer, Paramount Pictures couldn’t put the series to rest with a sound mind. There’s going to be a fourth, and director Michael Bay is said to be returning to the helm.

A source on the film has told Badass Digest that audiences shouldn’t expect the hokey vibe that ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ predominately had. Instead:

Michael realized it [the fourth film] needs to be more like the last hour [of Dark of the Moon].

The intense action from the final act of ‘Dark of the Moon’ may be carrying over, but according to an interview that E! had with actor, Josh Duhamel, the cast likely is not. He said:

I don’t think anybody’s doing it. I know Shia [LaBoeuf]‘s not doing it. I don’t think Tyrese or Rosie [Huntington-Whiteley] or anybody else is doing it.

That’s quite the statement. But maybe what the ‘Transformers’ series needs is a breath of fresh air? In the cartoons, the warring factions have gotten by just fine by introducing new human leads, or even doing away with them altogether. The latter doesn’t seem likely, but a charming substitute for LaBoeuf could surely work out.

It seems to be the hip thing to do these days to hate on ‘Transformers,’ particularly after the first sequel. But if the action took on a ‘Dark of the Moon’ vibe, and the cast becomes fresh, is this a film that goes on your radar?

    One word: VOLTRON.

    I could/would see that if…
It was more like the new G.I. Joe appears to be…
Throw in a Willis and/or at least a Rock level action hero…
    Find a competent director & comprehensible writer/script…
Ticket please, sit back and enjoy.

Lose the whole human character element already, let the next one take place on cybertron or something entirely new

Bay destroyed Cybertron at the end of Dark of the Moon and the most well known Decepticon villains in Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave and Shockwave. Take them away and you’re dealing with Unicorn or more obscure characters whom most fans will have no connection with.

Huge Voltron fan…I would to see that already on the big screen.

     Totally agree.

I thought after each Tranny movie they said they wanted to make the next one not as “hokey”?  They never really succeeded in that.  I have no issues with the movies, but don’t keep saying the same thing and not following through on it.

That being said, I think that we go to this kind of movie for the Transformers, not the humans.  You could probably put anyone you want in there and be fine as long as the story and action are good.
