First Pic of A Dirty Looking Hugh Jackman on the Set of ‘Les Miserables’

There’s a new set pic from the currently filming Les Miserables, which you can see below. It’s Hugh Jackman in costume as Jean Valjean. If I had to pick one word to describe the shot, it would be “stinky”. Doesn’t he just look raggedy and dirty? I guess times were tough in 19th century France, especially for ex-cons.

“Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption—a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.”

This film is an adaptation the the long running Broadway musical, which itself was an adaptation of Victor Hugo’s classic novel.
The King’s Speech’s Tom Hooper is directing, with Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen and Amanda Seyfried starring.
Les Miserables hits theatres December 14th.

    This was the only broadway play i saw when I was in junior high school. we went to it as a field trip; and i didn’t understand a god damned thing in it. As an adult now, I still don’t understand the damned story. Come now…over a piece of bread ?Really…you pursue a man for most of your life…because he stole some bread ? Get the Fuck outta here !!!
