Scroll down to see what may be the first teaser poster for The Wolverine, courtesy of Screen Rant. Rumor has it the photo was leaked via Instagram from director James Mangold’s offices.
The poster shows Wolverine’s claws slicing through a picture of a rising sun. It’s obviously a reference to Wolverone’s adventures in Japan, which makes sense. Hugh Jackman has made it known he loves the classic Frank Miller/Chris Claremont storyline from the 80s and wanted it to be the plot for the sequel.
After long and frustrating delays The Wolverine will begin shooting this summer. Mangold is directing from a script by Christopher Macquarrie and Mark Bomback.
Are you looking forward to this? Despite how bad X-Men Origins: Wolverine was, I’m very optimistic about this. I would have loved for Darren Aronofky to direct, but I think Mangold will do a great job. Jackman knows this character and I believe, as producer and star, he won’t allow past mistakes to be repeated. Also, after the fan’s enthusiastic reaction to X-Men: First Class, I think Fox finally realizes they need to take a step back and allow the filmmakers to realize their vision.
