All of the people you’d expect to see back are there. Robert Downey Jr.,of course, along with Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle. What surprised me was the inclusion of Scarlett Johansson. She’s back as Black Widow, but I don’t see why.
Black Widow was introduced in Iron Man 2 as Tony Stark’s new assistant, which made sense at the time. Now it’s known to Tony and everyone else that she is a SHEILD agent, so what’s her role in a film that doesn’t include The Avengers as a team? Does she still pose as Stark’s assistant?
Whatever the case may be, I’m glad we’re getting another Iron Man film next year.
Production is set to start in North Carolina in May and continue through the summer to September. Iron Man 3 hits theaters May 3, 2013. Shane Black is writing and directing.
