Ryan Gosling Is Beaten Up on the Set of ‘Only God Forgives’

Ryan Gosling and Nicolas Winding Refn had huge critical, if not commercial, success with last year’s Drive. It was my favorite movie of last year and appeared on a lot of critics “Top 10″ lists, so, of course, it was ignored by the Academy. Maybe they’ll have better luck next year with Only God Forgives.

If you scroll down you can see some shots of Gosling on set with his face all bloodied and beaten. Don’t fret ladies, its just makeup, his face is still pristine underneath.

In the film Gosling plays a retired boxer who now makes his living as a gangster. He takes on a Bangkok police lieutenant after the death of his brother. From the look of these pics, it’s not going too well.

Only God Forgives is set to hit theatres March 28, 2013.

    who the hell are you?

I liked Drive, I still think he looked like a stuck up dick in it though. That and the sudden and bloody violence was a love/hate relationship.

    Hair & Swagger…?
    Dud (oops, I mean dude)…
    Funny stuff.
    If your ‘positivity’…
    Is earnest…
    That’s…
    Cool.

    Like Wise_Man said though…

    No
offense, but that was kinda the point. He was a level headed driver that could
get you out of the situation you put yourself into with surgical precision, he
was aloud to seem like a dick. When pushed he unleashed a fury he kept at bay
until provoked. That’s what him so bad ass. That and the “man of a few
words” thing he had going. The violence was a necessary evil to the movie.
Makes me want to see Gosling do more Departed type movies…

His character had a severe social disorder so he probably seemed like a dick because he doesn’t really know how to interact with people that well. Cars are the only things that really make sense to him
