‘Machete Kills’ Mel Gibson and Michelle Williams?

In an article about Sin City 2 (you can read LR’s article on that here), Deadline New York drops some possible casting for Robert Rodriquez’s other sequel, Machete Kills.

According to Deadline Rodriquez is looking to cast Hollywood’s prodigal son, Mel Gibson, and Hollywood’s current darling, Michelle Williams, in the sequel to Machete. There’s no word on which roles they’ll be paying, but I pray Gibson is the villain here. I don’t think he’s ever played a full on bad guy before and I know he would be awesome as a dark, violent and brooding bad guy.

If I may be controversial for minute, why can’t Hollywood just forgive Gibson of his trespasses? While I can’t excuse his ignorant comments, he is a talented actor and director. Hollywood has forgiven much worse people of far more heinous acts. Yes, I’m looking at you Roman Polanksi.

Okay, I’m done now. In my next article I’ll go back to attempting to be funny by using sarcasm some people don’t seem to get.

i really think hollywood has set a double standard with mel gibson. He’s a recovering acholoic if i remember correctly, known to have bi polar, and yes, while both things in no way shape or form excuse what he said, lets keep this all in context and mind…HE SAID THEM WHILE DRUNK AND ANGRY AT HIS WIFE/GF…he is not the first person to shout obsense racist remarks in the middle of a heated discussion. WE HAVE ALL DONE IT! Hell, ill bet the pope has said some fucked up shit behind closed doors. ITS HUMAN NATURE. Last time i checked, he wasn’t out advocating the extinction of the jewish or african race was he?

Also, lets not forget, hollywood gave Robert Downy Jr a 2nd chance. (idk if he said any racist stuff but i know his drug habit was apparently legendary) and he recovered and now is bigger then ever! even Roman P, that child raping scumbag, has oscars for christs sakes, but poor old mel gibson, who’s only real crime was being famous, and human and saying messed up stuff in the heat of the moment, is constantly condemned?

Its not fair! Let it go hollywood, he’s a amazingly talented actor/director…give the guy another chance!

When he said Lennon deserved to die he crossed the line. I think they should find someone who isn’t such a loon :) I like Miller and Rodriguez a lot, and bet it will be good either way though.
