Ok, I’ve been fortunate enough to not get these stories up until now, but the time has come and it’s about my blessed Marvel properties, so I might as well spill the beans:
I don’t get this Mondo posters thing.
I like the idea of a bunch of talented artists getting together to make geek-centric properties graphically interesting and – yeah – the vast majority of their products are cool looking, but so are Threadless tees and their “eff your intellectual property rights” shirts that blindly put two pop culture items together.
Why is Mondo getting posts with every group of one sheets? Are they paying someone? Why isn’t that someone me, their sales rep for these two Avengers one-sheets?
I just don’t see why all the movie blogs get all over Austin’s dick all the time. I get it: it’s a great city and great TV comes out of there all the time and passible films and television come out of there frequently (and all the people seem pleasant when they get off Twitter and into real life) . But – I’m sorry Texas – Austin is only so good because it’s Texas. Los Angeles has the film industry, New York has news organizations and the stock exchange. That’s why everyone pretends like those two cities are important.
Cool. That should be enough troll bait to make sure this post does okay.
And before you call for my blood, you know how you can prove me wrong? BUY SOME ART! (see, everyone’s a winner!)
Mondo posters is designing character posters for each of The Avengers, because who would let that money go to waste? They’re opening up the rabid buying on April 19th and 20th with Black Widow by Olly Moss at 320 prints and Hawkeye by Tom Wahlen at 220 prints. I think they’re both pretty awesome and worth your money. They’ll drop on the Mondo website.
More are on their way (there are more Avengers!) between here and May 4th when Joss Whedon drops his masterpiece on all of us.
Check out the HUFFPO source that broke this for updates!
