Disney’s Pixar Animation is definitely keeping busy—at least through 2015.
The audience in CinemaCon 2012 in Las Vegas previewed the re-release of Pixar animated film favorite “Finding Nemo.”
The audience watched a scene in the movie that showcased the 3D effects. The scene was Mr. Ray taking the children on a school field trip.
“Finding Nemo” will be released on September 14 later this year.
For “Monsters University,” actors John Goodman and Billy Crystal introduced a brief trailer of the animated film through a taped message. The short clip has Sully playing a college practical joke on Mike Wazowski by gluing coins all over his body.
“Monsters University” will be released on June 21st next year.
Pixar Animation’s Creative Officer John Lasseter also announced a finalized name of one of their upcoming projects. Last August’s D23 convention, Pixar announced an “Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs” that will involve directors Bob Peterson, Peter Sohn and producer John Walker. The new title will be called “The Good Dinasaur.”
The film will be about an Earth, in which dinosaurs still rule the Earth since the giant asteroid missed the planet and co-existed with humans.
The U.S. release date for the film will be May 30, 2014.
Another untitled project, Pixar announced at CinemaCon 2012 the release date for Pete Docter’s “Untitled Pixar Movie That Takes You Inside The Mind” as June 19, 2015.
The film will explore a place that no one ever seen before—inside the human mind.
And finally, the CinemaCon audience received a delightful surprise with a group of Scottish bag pipe players and drummers marching on stage. Lasseter appeared in a kilt to show the audience the first 30 minutes of the upcoming “Brave” movie to the audience that sets up the adventure for Princess Merida.
“Brave” will be in theaters on June 22nd.
