First Photos From ‘Django Unchained’

The Weinstein Company has released the first two official photos from Quentin Tarantino’s next film “Django Unchained.”

The upcoming film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Sacha Baron Cohen, Gerald McRaney, Dennis Christopher, Kurt Russell, Laura Cayouette, M.C. Gainey, Don Johnson, Kerry Washington, Anthony LaPaglia, RZA, Tom Wopat, James Remar, James Russo, and Todd Allen.

The photos give you a first look at Leonardo DiCaprio as the deranged plantation owner named Calvin Candie and Christoph Waltz as the German Bounty and Jamie Foxx as Django the freed slave.

Jamie Foxx explains the serious side to Django Unchained:

“There’s a beautiful way [Tarantino] found for the characters to talk to each other. It’s mindblowing. You’ve never heard it this way. You’ve seen movies deal with slavery — or westerns that never dealt with slavery – do it the safe way. This way is like … wow.”

Foxx goes on and talks about the relationship between his character and Waltz’ character:

“Christoph’s character is a little aloof to what slavery actually is. He’s not familiar with everything, and when he sees atrocities, it’s Greek to him. But Django lets him know this is the way the world is and we got to get used to it. He teaches Django certain things he needs to become a whole man, and [Django] also teaches Christoph that when life deals you these cards, here’s what you’ve got to do.”

“Django Unchained” is due out in theaters on December 25th.

Would prefer to see my people on the screen as superheroes saving the day in the present or future than rebellious slaves. Hard to be Black past present or future. Sighhhhhh

Sorry. It is not as hard to be black now than it was then. Get your head out of your ass.
