Animal Kingdom director David Michod has finally chosen his next film, Rover.
In the film a man chases thieves through the Australian outback after they steal his car.
Guy Pearce is in talks to play the man giving chase and Robert Pattinson will most likely play one of the thieves.
In addition to directing, Michod has also written the screenplay. It’s based on an idea Michod and actor Joel Edgerton conceived while shooting Kingdom.
It’s good to see Pearce stacking up some good projects. He’ll be seen in this summer’s Prometheus and he has joined Iron Man 3. I’ve always felt he was an underrated actor.
Pattinson seems to be taking interesting roles in his post-Twilight career. With this and a role in David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis he may be on the road to redeeming his past cinematic transgressions.
