New Trailer For ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Is HERE!

Columbia Pictures has released the new trailer that will be attached with prints of “Marvel’s The Avengers” for “The Amazing Spider-Man,” which stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field.

“The Amazing Spider-Man” is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

    I know! No one seems to have picked up on that – huge reveal there, no? I mean, there hasn’t been a whisper of a hint about a second villain, and now we get what seems like an outright confirmation of just that and nobody cares! Weird. I guess that’s a barometer for the excitement around this whole project.

    It’s probably the new Osborn, but with all of Conner’s hints at Peter’s destiny and a hidden depth to his powers… Is it too much to hope for EZEKIEL??? XD

    There’s something unfamiliar about this Spidey, it’s true. I resisted it initially, but the freshness of it is at least exciting. I’m hoping for the tone of the Marvel Knights Spider-Man (later, Sensational).

    It’s making spider man into a haunted soul who struggles with balancing his life and his crime fighting

    It’s putting focus on the death of his parents

    It’s tying his choice to be a superhero into the event of his parents death

    Should i go on?

    This movie is making the same mistake that superman returns made…  Trying to use the successful Batman “personal demons” take on the Story.  That works for batman and a few other characters but supes and spidy are supposed to be easy going and have fun with their gifts, not mope like a emo

    do you read comics?  every hero has personal demons arcs.  and where were superman’s personal demons in superman returns?   that he loves lois?  superman loves lois lane, everyone knows this- hardly a demon.  seems to me this is about peter finding out how not his but his parents’ personal demons shaped him. 

    all of you whiners are SO ANGRY about going back to an origin story and ironically angry that the origin has been refreshed (or seemingly so).  oh, and we hate his suit!  oh and andrew garfield’s crotch doesn’t bulge enough!  (okay, that’s just me and some other weird dude that posted a few days ago).  Sam rami’s movies, with the exception of sidey 2, weren’t very good.  the effects and (all too infrequent) action, were the only reasons to see those movies more than once.  and even spider-man 2 strained the limits of sympathy for crybabies. 

    don’t you just want a good spider-man movie?  wouldn’t that be enough?  hell, don’t you just want hollywood to make good adventure/fantasy/sci-fi?  do you think having temper tantrums on boards like this makes any difference?  the only way to be heard is to vote with your $$$.  if you are going to see this movie- or any tent pole movie that has either offered sub-par installments in the past or is a new beast, see a matinee.  see a matinee.  and if it’s any good, see it again at full price.  don’t reward the establishment before you even know what’s on offer for sure.  i say this because i know that 90% of the people who bash things that haven’t really given a credible reason to be bashed are going to go see these movies anyway.  even the people who claim they’ll just watch it on the net (yeah right).  and, yeah, i’m one of the people who was disappointed that we were going all the way back to the beginning, but i have seen nothing that seems more like a warning than a solid teaser from this new crew.

    I could do without the whole origin story again, and everything about his parents. As I recall, that wasn’t one of the greatest of story arcs in the comics. But, I do like look and feel of the movie, and the actors, so I am going to give it a shot. I just wish that this was part of Marvel’s movie universe. I don’t care how good this, or any future X-Men, Fantastic Four or Daredevil movies are, the fact that they don’t share the same universe as the Avengers, especially since it was done successfully, will always be the elephant in the room now.
