Will Rebecca Hall Sign Up For ‘Iron Man 3′?

Best Supporting Acttress nominee Jessica Chastain (The Help) was up for a part in Iron Man 3, but had to skedaddle due to scheduling conflicts. Now Variety is reporting Rebecca Hall (The Prestige, The Town) may take the part.

If she accepts Hall will play a scientist who helps Guy Pearce’s Aldrich Killian develop the Extremis nanotechnology that is eventually sold to terrorists.

Shane Black is directing this time and will share writing duties with Drew Pearce. The script will rely heavily on the Iron Man: Extremis run by Warren Ellis.

Iron Man 3 will start shooting this month for a May 3, 2013 release. The cast includes the
returning Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle; along with newbies Guy Pearce, Hall and Ben Kingsley.

    They’re really doing Extremis? WHY?! Tony Stark should always be a man in a suit. Isn’t that what separates him from the other heroes in the first place? The fact that he is a man in a suit? That’s the best part. Do they realize how many fans they’re going to disappoint by doing this? SHOTTY CALL, MARVEL. You just wowed everyone with Avengers, and now you’re going to RADICALLY change Tony Stark/Iron Man just for the sake of it? Just to do it? C’mon, this is the last thing we need after finally getting The Avengers. We all just want Iron Man, just like how everyone just wants Batman. Bruce doesn’t need to make himself a costume that forms from his own skin. (Btw, I think that’s a silly, and stupid idea in the first place.) TONY STARK WOULD DO JUST FINE IN ALL OF THESE MOVIES TO COME, BY JUST BEING IRON MAN. THE FACT THAT HE IS JUST A MAN IS WHAT LITERALLY MAKES HIM ONE OF THE BEST MARVEL CHARACTERS OF ALL TIME! How could you forget that? Or do you filmmakers just not care? I know you care, so don’t screw Iron Man 3 up. I know Downey Jr. would probably make it very difficult for you guys to screw him up anyway. My hope is that the tools on this site are making it seem like they know for a fact that the extremis story-line is definitely being put to use, while in reality, it’s just a rumor like it usually is. This is my hope.

    Who wants to bet Tony gets his hands on Asgard tech. After Loki stabs Thor on top of Stark Tower, Thor just tosses the knife to the ground when he pulls it out, and leaves it there. This chick and Guy Peirce will be working on one of the top ten floors of Stark Tower, ya know, Candyland.
