News On ‘Thor 2′ And Possbile Casting for ‘Lobo’

Bleeding Cool ran an interesting article on Thor 2 and Lobo that mentioned possible casting and which characters we can expect to see.

Lobo

The rumor is Dwayne Johnson is being eyed as the title character. Their source, however, is “untested” so take this with a grain of salt. The source claims to have been at a party that Johnson also attended and they claim Johnson was telling people he’ll be taking the role.

Thor 2

While trying to nail down a confirmation on Mr The Rock appearing as Lobo, they found out some info on the next solo flick featuring Asgard’s favorite son. The word is The Enchantress will be appearing in the sequel, as to which version of the character we’ll be getting? Our guess is as good as theirs.

    FANBOYS UNITE!!! Rather than sit back and watch Hollywwod or wait for Hollywood to see our fantasy Hero flicks made/ or/then Butchered, START writing your own SCRIPTS, that are true to the fans and not some withering rich executives that don’t know shit about the characters or what they meant to your childhood imagination. I bet you at some point someone’s gonna come knocking.

     a lobo movie is a stoopid idea.  of the dc projects put on film or tv in the last ten years- hell, 15 or 16 years- the only ones that are ANY good are nolan’s batman movies.  and no matter how effing great those movies are, they don’t feel like comic movies that could fit in with any of the other characters in the dc universe.  what the eff are they thinking at warners??  they can’t pull off a good green lantern movie, their last superman was shite, they won’t even attempt wonder woman or flash, but they’re going to give us a real treat with a third tier character like lobo?  STOOPID.

    I seriously think a LOBO movie will fail bigtime as a standalone film despite who plays him if his character isnt first introduced as a secondary character in any other DC movie. Why not do thing the smart way & try not to rush this, PLEASE! Havent you learned anything from Marvel these past few years???

    If the rumours are true, what Warner is doing is called desperation.  They had a business model in the name of Green Lantern which was to be the fill in for Harry Potter.  Now that Nolan’s Batman is going to be over soon, they need a title that can maintain the projections that they had hoped would happen with Green Lantern.  Seeing what Marvel/Disney has done, they hoping to hit the iron while it is still hot.  The problem that most executive groups have is that they’re making decisions without thinking about why the model they’re looking to copy was successful.  Time, patience and good planning which is something Marvel had and what the exec’s at Warner don’t have.  They’re probably thinking that if they don’t do something quickly,  they become irrelevent and they’ll always be compared to Marvel as second rate. Which is sad because I’m a DC fan also.

    this whole Lobo thing might be their answer to Iron Man.  A character that could be edgy but at the same time comedic.  If they had concentrated on a good story with Green Lantern, they wouldn’t be in this position in the first place.  It’s surprising because Geoff Johns had created a good simple reboot origin in the comics but he chose to swing for the fences with an end of the world scenario with the Fantastic Four cloud which in my mind was the death knell for that franchise.
