Marvel Prez Kevin Feige isn’t taking anytime to rest and enjoy the success he’s having with The Avengers, instead he’s looking to the future of the Marvel Universe and getting the Avengers’ solo films going.
Shooting began last week on Iron Man 3 with an extra $60 mil thrown into the budget and now we’re getting news on casting for Thor 2 in the form of Mads Mikkelsen playing a villain. The question still remains, which villain will he be playing?
Here’s Feige:
“We’re going to see the other side of Asgard. It’s not all polished and golden in this film. And the events of Avengers will have affected Thor for sure. His relationship with Loki will continue to evolve, and the biggest part is Natalie and Thor returning with Jane Foster.
“No, future, future. But there will be a major new villain. A major, major new antagonist…”
So, we’re getting a new bad guy for Thor 2, and it will not be Thanos going after Loki and the Infinity Gauntlet. This makes sense, that feels more like a plot line for an Avengers sequel anyway.
