Nate Parker? IDK doesn’t look like Black Panther and Red Tails was terrible. REALLY wish Elba wasn’t cast in Thor I’d love him in this role.

Marvel is really calling it close if this is the 2014 film. All of their previous non-sequels have taken 2 1/2 – 3 years between hiring directors and releasing the film (or, about 1 1/2 – 2 years preproduction, with roughly a year between start-of-production and release.) 

Sounds like a solid candidate for 2015 though.

In my opinion, Marvel should just make the damn movie. It’s not a “BLACK” movie, it’s a movie. Just because Black people are in it, don’t label it.

It doesn’t matter who they cast — they will end up looking ridiculous, because Hollywood has trouble with people in tights.  So we’ll get some sort of leather Ben Affleck outfit again, and it will suck.  Maybe not as bad as Halle Berry’s Catwoman, but bad enough…

But who would he fight?  It’s a shame FF is a Fox property cause Victor Von Doom would be a great antagonist – monarch vs monarch.  I like BP, but for me it would come down to the villain in the story.  Given that T’Challa is also a great scientific mind, it only makes sense that at somepoint you’d see him show up in Iron Man or something.   

With all these comic book movies, I say there needs to be a Bluntman and Chronic movie.

Before he got into tax trouble, this was Snipes Magnum Opus. Will Smith would be box office, but wouldn’t be right for this role; IMO needs someone who can command a regal presence and maintain some kind of African accent. I still vote for Djimon Hounsou or Michael Jai White.

Because Idris Elba is already attached to Thor. Sure, Chris Evans played Johnny Storm, but that was in Fox’s Fantastic Four. Which they are also rebooting anyway. So how would Idris Elba play another character that is also in the same movie universe.

Three things need to happen if this is real:

1) Base it on the Christopher Priest characterization and run.  THAT is the definitive BP.

2) Play up the political thriller angle to show why he’s so different than all of the other characters in the MCU.

3) Cast Chiwetel Ejiofor.  He’s born to play this role.

I’d like to see the talented Aldis Hodge in the role.

 Marvel (or their film partners) did a good job finding new blood to play Wolverine and Thor. I think someone like Mehcad Brooks (from True Blood) would be the best actor to do this role. He is a big athletic dude who can act.

 I can dig Ejiofor in the role.  I really don’t want it to go to an American though.  African-American actors usually are terrible at making African Accents and that would just completely take me out of the movie.

Aldis Hodge gets my vote. It’s gotta be someone young, hip, a fan favorite, good with action, has a sense of humor. Too many of the names here take themselves too seriously. Too hard to watch these guys chew the scenery!

Speaking as a white dude who loves Black Panther, I think any Black Panther movie would be a “black” movie because Black Panther is black man living in a largely black nation. This seems to be stating the obvious to me. Do I care if it’s a black movie? No. ‘Bout time we had one. I mean Iron Man is a quintessentially “White” movie. Rich white dude decides to fix the world with Money and tech. Thor is about the Scandanavian God Thor. Captain America is basically the “Good Nazi” in that he’s a blonde haired, blue eyed, super soldier. Lucky we made him before the Nazi’s huh? Must have been confusing to be beat up by their Ideal Mensch. You cannot get any more white without bleach. I believe there is such a thing as black culture in America and I, for one, would look forward to it being represented in a super hero movie. I know I left out the Hulk, but I am not sure if that’s a “white” movie or just a very very male movie. Would it matter if Banner was black? I don’t really think so. What is important is HULK SMASH! Not that there is anything wrong with the myth’s that have grown out of white culture. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, most of the X-Men, and all the guys mentioned above all seem to reflect white culture examining itself and coming up with some fairly interesting ideals. But it’s time, I would suggest, for other voices to be heard. And Black Panther is a fantastic place to begin.
