Samuel L. Jackson Joining Cast of ‘Robocop’ Remake

According to The Hollywood Reporter, veteran actor Samuel L. Jackson is joining the cast of Sony’s remake of “Robocop.”

He will join Joel Kinnaman (“The Killing”) who will play the cop Alex Murphy and later becomes the half-man half-cyborg officer Robocop. Gary Oldman also joined the cast as the scientist who created Robocop.

Jackson will play Pat Novak, a very charismatic media mogul executive.

He was recently since in this summer’s blockbuster hit “Marvel’s The Avengers.” And he’ll be appearing as a villain in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino-directed “Django Unchained.”

“Robocop” remake will begin shooting in Toronto around September with a theater release date towards next summer.

    This fuckin sucks! sorry!  I just watched the original and enjoyed it as much as the first time i saw it when i was kid.  This is one movie that should be left alone hollywood. And now jackson is playing a character that wasnt even in the first movie so i’m guessing its not stickng to the original stroy either?

    I LOOVE Samuel Jacskon, but It seems like black actors are being pushed into roles alot now just beacuse of their race.

    I’m not sure if there was ever a Robocop comic from Marvel but if there was one, Sam can have the ultra slow half robot/half man join the next Avengers! But I dunno, maybe Robocop is just the slow moving equivalent of Ironman, but Robo did fly in part 3, remember? Now that was a laugh!

    Sam Jackson AND Gary Oldman.  Yeah.  That business.  It WOULD take the awesomeness of Nick Fury and Comissioner Gordon to handle Robocop.

    Ever wonder why Sam Jackson and the Rock died in the other guys?  It was a cooperative cover up by S.H.I.E.L.D and GIJOE because Nick Fury and Roadblock were needed elsewhere.
