Abbie Cornish Offered a Female Lead in ‘Robocop’ Remake

MGM is quickly moving ahead with its remake of “Robocop.”

Deadline has reported an offer was sent to actress Abbie Cornish to play the wife of the cop-turned-Robocop Alex Murphy.

She will join Joel Kinnaman (“The Killing”) who will play Robocop and Gary Oldman, the scientist who created him. It was also reported this week Samuel L. Jackson is in talks to play a media mogul in the movie.

Cornish will be seen in the upcoming “The Seven Psychopaths” She was seen in films such as “Sucker Punch,” “W.E.” and “Limitless.”

“Robocop” remake will begin shooting in Toronto around September with a theater release date towards next summer.

    I home they get someone like Don Cheadle to play “Johnson.”  Can you imagine such a talented actor emphatically proclaiming that Robocop’s food tastes like baby food and then diving into it?
