Nothing like some set photos to break some news. Let’s just hope that it’s trustworthy news. I can’t say for certain that everything I’ve seen reported about ‘Iron Man 3′ in the past two weeks has struck me as accurate, but everyone is having a good time, especially people in North Carlolina.

Via i09, we get some spy photos of an exterior Iron Man set, namely AIM! Advanced Idea Mechanics. Basically, the evil company of geniuses, where as someone like Tony Stark and Stark Industries would be the good company of a genius.

AIM is most fondly remembered for creating M.O.D.O.K. (Mental Organism Designed Only For Killing) a giant head looking guy, one of Marvel’s more interesting character designs.

I don’t think we’ll see M.O.D.O.K. in ‘Iron Man 3,’ but it’s more about fleshing out the Marvel universe now, and AIM needs to be part of it (much like I’m still waiting for Roxxon Corporation to rear it’s head).

Epic Games in North Carolina will provide AIM’s exterior. Word is the scene on tap was a company Christmas party.

Also for those with sharp eyes, a police motorcycle sporting some Florida branding seems to confirm the film will be shooting in Miami. Which – of course it was in the early fall – that’s old news. But there’s a motorcycle!

The Marvel fan in me wants to see some bright yellow bee-keeper suits or something that nods back to AIM’s more…uniquely designed…comic history.
