‘Ninja Turtles’ Set to Invade Vancouver for Film Production

Cowabunga, eh?

The reboot movie “Ninja Turtles” will begin film production in late summer or early fall in Vancouver, Canada.

The Michael Bay-produced version dropped the “teenage” aspect to these Ninja Turtles and they will not be mutants—but aliens from space.

Few details are revealed about the plot, except these Ninja Turtles will defend Earth from alien invaders.

“Wrath of the Titans” Jonathan Liebesman will be at the helm for the project.

The movie is scheduled for theater release on December 2013.

Before everyone starts going on about how, “They are raping my childhood” blah blah blah, The original turtles stories, had the ooze that transformed them, COME FROM OUTER SPACE. So please, don’t start hating on the project before you see it.

Or if you’re a Michael Bay hater, don’t go see the movie.

So, rainy trees in every other scene?

Alien Ooze, Alien invaders? to me it sounds like KRAANG and the technodrome may be in this, and its about time! Hopefully Shredder will be back too.

Loved the original movie, and loved the 80s cartoon back in the day, and I love the Turtles. Bay better not F this up!

Also just because they are from “outer space” doesn’t mean they can’t be considered mutants…i’m no making an judgement until the movie is in theaters and i see it. It can’t be any worse than the live action ninja turtles t.v. show

regardless of what bay does to it…don’t forget at one point in the “turtles history” they actually teamed up with the “power rangers”…

As long as they don’t try to make the Turtles super dark and gritty then I’m fine with this

Does this mean Splinter is from outer space too?

  • AICN_Douche

    Agreed.

FYI, the original TMNT black and white comics by Eastman and Laird were dark and gritty, showing the turtles cutting off heads and limbs, mad bloody. It’s what got them popular in the first place. I was pissed when the cartoon came out and showed these “ninja” tripping over garbage cans and slipping on pizza slices. I personally wish that they’d make this hardcore, they way they were meant to be, but I know that won’t happen.

the idea that a mutating goo can come from outer space vs, turtles – an Earth-evolved amphibian can come from outer space.

do you not see the distinction?

I know they were more gritty back in the comics but they also still had an air of comedy to them that the cartoons just capitalized off of. If you ask me to this day the best TMNT movie was the very first one because he balanced the comedic shenanigans and the grittiness really well. If this new turtles movie can re-establish that balance then I’m sure it’ll be great. I just don’t want it to be gritty just because anti-heroes are popular now you know?

That was the first question that I asked when I heard about this new premise

  • Thrimidge

Since they’re not teenage or mutant and since they’re from space they wouldn’t be ninjas since splinter taught them to be such from his ninja training which is Japanese origin. Therefore, this movie should just be called “Turtles”. Awesome.

Awesome Fighting Space Turtles!!!!  Cant wait to see this!!!

  • Jesus_Slade

Why not call it ‘random stuff from somewhere!’
There’s no ‘mutant, ninja, turtles’ in this concept, if they are teenage is that in dog years, or alien years?
There is a story behind the characters! With plenty of potential!
Please Bay!!! Ruin something like Casper the Ghost!!!
Something on your level, that people don’t care about
Hasn’t Bay Fucked Everything else just to ‘cash in’ time over time?
