In case you haven’t heard, Josh Dallas will not be reprising the role of Fandral in Thor 2. The actor is committed to Once Upon A Time, that fairytale TV show, and won’t be available for filming. Now, director Alan Taylor is going to have to find a replacement. Fortunately, the producers already have someone in mind.

Zachary Levi was the original choice to play Fandral in Thor, but wasn’t available to due to his TV series Chuck. He originally took the part because he thought Chuck was getting cancelled, but then it didn’t, and Dallas was cast. Not having the burden of a full-time job, Levi is now free to join The Warriors Three in their adventures with the God of Thunder throughout Asgard and beyond. Talks with Levi have only just begun, but The Hollywood Reporter believes an offer is “imminent”.

Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano and Anthony Hopkins are all returning for Thor 2; which is scheduled for release on November 8, 2013.
