BREAKING: PHILLIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN offered the role of PLUTARCH HEAVENSBEE in The Hunger Games sequel CATCHING FIRE! Lionsgate had no comment

For those who don’t know, Plutarch Heavensbee is the head games maker in Catching Fire. Heavensbee replaces Seneca Crane, the game maker from The Hunger Games because Crane is… unavailable.

If Hoffman signs on for Catching Fire he’ll probably also have to sign on for Mocking Jay, since his character has a much larger role in the third book.

As Sneider tweeted, Lionsgate has yet to comment on this rumor.
