Sometimes things come in the mail that I might as well pass on, even if I’m not sure how interesting they are. For example, take everything that has to do with ‘The Host,’ The Stephanie Meyer (‘Twilight’-scribe) novel about a dystopian future where a whole bunch of soul symbiotes are taking over humanity by stealing our bodies. A girl bonded with an alien soul becomes the Jesus figure for all humanity because of love or something.
Let me watch the trailer real quick and make sure I’m not mis-representing this…
…
…Did I mention people’s eyes glow?
The movie stars Saoisrse Ronan (Hanna of ‘Hanna’), Jack Abel (‘Percy Jackson,’ ‘I Am Number Four’), Max Irons (Red Riding Hood) William Hurt (yes, THAT William Hurt) and Diane Krugar (‘Inglorious Basterds,’ ‘National Treasure’). The book was adapted and will be directed by ‘In Time’s writer/director Andrew Niccol, and will hit March 29th 2013.
As part of a “Hey! This movie is still coming, stop seeing Snow White And The Huntsman” campaign, The Host has put out the “never before seen” introduction to the bestselling book and an extended exerpt.
THE HOST by Stephenie Meyer, the author of THE TWILIGHT SAGA. Read the excerpt. In theaters 3/29!
Don’t you want to buy The Host?
Or see The Host?
I want to see Saoisrse Ronan and I’ll put up with a lot.
