Do remember The Artist? Oh, you don’t? It was that silent film that won all those Oscars a few months ago. The star of that film, Jean Dejardin, won Best Actor. Now he’s getting offers for lots of high profile films, including Martin Scorsese’s next picture.
Scorsese is getting ready to shoot The Wolf Of Wall Street and wants Dujardin for the part of Jean-Jacques Handali, a “suave Swiss banker involved in laundering illicit funds for the protag’s firm.”
The “protag” of the film is Jordan Belfort who will be portrayed by Scorsese’s go to lead Leonardo DiCaprio. Oscar Nominee Jonah Hill is co-starring; as is Kyle Chandler, who plays an FBI agent who investigates, and eventually arrests, Belfort.
The Wolf of Wall Street was adapted for the screen by Terence Winter from Belfort’s memoir.
