Zack Snyder has worked with composer Tyler Bates on all of his films, but that will change with his Superman reboot Man of Steel. For the Christopher Nolan porduced film Snyder will employ Hans Zimmer.
Zimmer has worked for Nolan on all three Batman films and Inception, so it’s no surprise he got the job on Man of Steel.
Zimmer is no stranger to high profile big budget films. In addition to working for Nolan, Zimmer has scored all of the Pirates of the Caribbean films, The Simpsons Movie, Angels and Demons and both of Guy Rithchie’s Sherlock Holmes movies. That’s only the tip of the iceberg. Check out Zimmer’s IMDB page to see everything he’s done. The dude has one impressive resume.
My questions is, will Zimmer incorporate any of John Williams’ iconic Superman theme? I’ve heard Snyder wants to make this film a complete departure from the previous Supes films, so I’m not holding my breath.
