Plot Details On The ‘Mortal Kombat’ Reboot

We haven’t heard much about the Mortal Kombat reboot lately. It was announced a while ago that Kevin Tancharoen was attached to direct from a script by Oren Uziel, and that still holds true. Now, thanks to Bloody Disgusting, we have some story details.

Apparently the movie will follow…
“… a lowly unlucky supermarket employee who discovers that he has out of this world powers and must decide between good and evil, even though the evil side has helped him discover his true potential and who he really is.”
I haven’t played MK since I gave my Sega Genesis to my nephews ten years ago, so I ask you: Does this factor into any of the games recent story lines? If not, do you like this idea of how to reintroduce the movie goers into the MK universe?

    With a plot like that, I think the writer was thinking of making a kids movie. It is bad and it has being done so many times before. It is time for these writers to get original ideas and stop copying bad ones

    Seriously, I wouldnt be disheartened by the weirdo sounding synopsis. Dont you guys remember how Liu Kang had left the whole fighting thing to go watch TV in America IN the old movie. Dont just chomp on the soundbit.

    This is not a rea lplot godam the writer should have played the game game first before he could start writing the script WB has no brains and that Kevin Tancharoen is a real problem.

    So……A lowly, unlucky punk ass kid has special powers??? If I was a kid with special powers, I wouldnt be lowly or unlucky!! Are you kidding me?? Besides, that plot has no business in the movie that was expected to be based upon the webisodes we saw. Ugh….yet another dissatified MK movie! All I can do now is hope…
