There have been rumors floating around that Lionsgate is already planning a reboot of the Twilight franchise, but it’s not to be, probably.
Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Lionsgate has denied any rumors of a reboot, at least for now.
Summit Co-Chairman and Lionsgate domestic movie czar Rob Friedman told Deadline the following:
“We are not remaking Twilight. We will happily support Stephanie Meyer if she decides to proceed in any way. But this will be the last one unless that should change.”
What does this mean? Absolutely nothing, if you ask me. Basically Friedman is saying there’s no immediate plans to reboot, remake or do another sequel; but that could change in an hour.
The Twilight franchise is too profitable for there not to be a continuation or re- imagining at some point. Eventually Meyer will crap out another Twilight book, and you can bet your ass there will be a movie to go with it.
