Brand New Trailer ‘Total Recall’ Is HERE!

Columbia Pictures have released a brand new trailer for “Total Recall,” the remake of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s classic sci-fi action film. The remake stars Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, John Cho and Bill Nighy.

“Total Recall” is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.

The film is directed by Len Wiseman from a screenplay written by Kurt Wimmer and Mark Bomback and the screen story is by Ronald Shusett & Dan O’Bannon and Jon Povill.

Have a look at the new trailer below.

The film will hit theaters on August 3, 2012.

I’m resisting the urge to click the link. The first trailer showed well enough already. I’m interested in seeing it. Why can’t ad campaigns stop there? Remember when there was ONE theatrical trailer per film, and you never knew which ones would be played in front of your movie? Now we’ve got PREVIEWS of trailers – which, according to the green bands that precede them, are previews themselves.
I feel old. What’s this thread about again? Oh yeah. Recall. I’ll see it, when it’s released.

For those who haven’t seen the original, this should be awesome!
    For those that have,
I hope the SFX and action holds up through the whole movie because it sounds just like the original script smothered in CGI.

I think I saw this movie years ago, wait a minute I think it was back in the summer of 1990. Or I’m I having a total recall?

Weeell…..seems like this trailer spilled the beans on a MAJOR SPOILER. We now know Bokeem turns on Farrell later in the movie. He’s probably going to fill the role of that guy who told Swartzenegger that everything’s all a dream and he ends up getting shot in the head as a result.

That kind of sucks, it could’ve been an interesting moment considering it appears Bokeem’s character is Farrell’s friend in the beginning.

At any rate, spoilers aside, this looks like it may be one of the first remakes to surpass the original in kick-assness…. well, aside from The Fly.

    I’ll be there opening weekend.
