Da7e reported back in May that Ryan Reynolds was in talks to play Conor MacLeod in the Highlander remake, but, at the time, no offer had gone out. Now, The Tracking Board brings word that an offer has gone out, and been accepted. So, whether you like it or not, it appears Reynolds will be our new Highlander.
What do you think?
This just feels like miscasting to me. For whatever reason Hollywood seems intent on making Reynolds a viable action lead, but I can’t say I’ve liked him in anything. He wasn’t a good Green Lantern, he wasn’t a good Deadpool and he sure as hell wasn’t good in any of those awful comedies he’s done.
Yes, you could blame the scripts, but a good actor can deliver a good performance despite a bad screenplay.
I hear he’s good in Safe House, but I’m going to assume some of Denzel’s awesomeness just spilled over.
But what do I know?
Juan Carlos Fresnadillo will be directing this one and most likely taking a pass at rewriting the script.
