Want To Take A Look At Bane’s Device In ‘The Dark Knight Rises’?

There’s been some talk on the web about the glimpses we’ve seen of a certain device in The Dark Knight Rises. Thanks to Comic Book Movie, you’re guessing can end.

It’s a fusion reactor the Bane gets his hands on. I’m going to assume he isn’t looking to provide Gotham with an alternative clean energy source.

Fusion reactors have been getting a lot of press recently because they offer some major advantages over other power sources. They will use abundant sources of fuel, they will not leak radiation above normal background levels and they will produce less radioactive waste than current fission reactors.

Nobody has put the technology into practice yet, but working reactors aren’t actually that far off. Fusion reactors are now in experimental stages at several laboratories in the United States and around the world

You can catch TDKR in theatres July 20th.

    and they are at least 50 years away from the next phase of development. RIght now they are building a tokamak, project called ITER, in France. THe ITER is using magnetic confinement to contain the plasma…which it looks like they are doing the same.
