‘Avengers’ Mid-Credits Thanos Scene is Here!

In May 2011, we posted a story that Thanos was going to aid a villainous Loki in ‘The Avengers.’ At the time, Marvel was saying that Loki wasn’t in ‘The Avengers’ and didn’t make a comment on Thanos.

Now, Thanos is not only going to be in ‘Avengers 2′ but ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ as well. And we’re guessing he will become obsessed with “Death” as his comics counterpart does.

Want to see the pun that hints at the comics connection?

How about just watching Thanos slowly smile again?

Do whatever you want, it’s here:

Meanwhile, all I can think about when I see the Thanos design is that anyone over at Warner Bros even remotely thinking about using DC’s Darkseid for anything is probably really struggling with Marvel’s plan to feature Thanos in 3 of their gigantic films, seeing as how the two characters are ridiculously similar.

  • AICN_Douche

    Darkseid is cooler.

  • MrGoyaOhBoya

Don’t worry. WB’s not smart enough to feature Darkseid in any of their films.

  • AICN_Douche

    True, and sad.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with this statement.

You’d think they’d learn with a Justice League movie, they need a villain that can single handedly hand them their asses. Marvel got it right, alien giant threat, level a city.

  • Lyndsey Gibson

Thanos is stronger than hulk, smarter than stark, braver than Thor, and a better strategist than cap, marvel knows exactly what they are doing. DC wouldnt know how to bring a villain that size to life if their future depended on it…(cough cough smallville)

  • ktulutu

Actually that comparison pic is a terrible example to choose to try to prove your point-that’s probably as different as they can look.

  • tonightsmeal

DC needs to make a justice league movie where the villain is Lex Luthor and he’s trying to get land

  • L4YERCAKE

Thanos was based after Darkseid. Once again, Marvel beats DC at their own game…

To someone who reads comics, yes. Or someone who just read the above article. But to the billions of people around the world, in hundreds of different cultures, who flock to movies such as this, their perception would understandably be as follows:
Giant alien warlord, wide-bodied, throaty voice, craggy face, shiny armor, glowing red eyes, fights super-heroes – same guy.

They could make Darkseid into a cloud?

    CLASSIC!

Fail comment. They can only beat DC once DC puts Darkseid up on screen and screws it up.

    Thanos: “Court Death you say?”

Eh, I get what you’re saying. But personally, I think they’re plenty different in terms of look. But I’m familiar with the comics so I wouldn’t have that vantage point of somebody that wasn’t familiar.

Dc needs to let the writers for the jl cartoons write all their movies cause green lantern and the dark knight movies were boring.

    WB doesn’t NEED Darkseid.

They can go with Doomsday (who ended up KILLING SEVERAL JLA members), Brainiac (Think Independence Day vs Superheros, where the aliens know the weakness to everyone – the title could be PANIC IN THE SKY), and Legion of Doom (Batman/Rhas Al Ghul vs the JLA).

Actually, what would make the MOST sense would be a Final Crisis/Infinite Earths movie.

You can bring in Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale as alternate universe versions of Batman (where Keaton is the Kingdom Come Bruce), and they meet the NEW Batman.

And Brandon Routh, Dean Cain, a CGI and older Christopher Reeves (Kingdom Come), can meet the new boy in blue.

And you could bring in Ryan Reynolds and have him meet the “real” universes Green Lantern, Jon Stewart (Idris Alba?)

It’d be the perfect way to say, hey… we had a lot of reboots, but who gives a sh!t, they’re part of the multiverse. And then you can start this NEW universe from scratch.

Kind of like how they’re redoing the X-men movies ;)

And Nuclear Man is his real estate agent.
