The Villain is Cast: Dr. Who VS. ‘Thor: The Dark World’

Christopher Eccleston, best known as the Ninth Doctor in Britain’s most culturally important thing mostly left out of the Olympic Opening Ceremonies: Dr. Who.

Now we’re hearing that Eccleston has been cast as the villain in ‘Thor: The Dark World’ which is due to start shooting any day now over in London. The larger confirmation buried here is that Eccleston looks to be playing Malekith The Accursed, the leader of the Dark Elves from Svartalfheim.

Looks like Eccleston is going to go half-black-elf-face soon for Alan Taylor’s Chris Hemsworth-starring sequel as we push into Phase 2.

If you were to ask me, we should start looking for ways for the Infinity Gauntlet to be stolen, broken and/or re-distributed. We’ve seen the Gauntlet as a Easter Egg in ‘Thor,’ but we also might be all Tesseract’d out when it comes to magical objects and Marvel’s Phase 2 needs some more MacGuffin Gems floating around.

Because the difference between the Cosmic Cube of the comics and The Reality Gem is cosmetic once you make the jump to films. (Just sayin’).

Oh, and Hela. I’m still waiting for Hela.

Basically, it turns out I’m more interested in ‘Thor: The Dark World’ than I thought I’d be. Are you also having this problem?

The Tardis? Don’t remember seeing it. Am happy for Chris as I feel he is an underrated actor and hopefully this will give him the push he needs in Hollywood.

The Tardis itself wasn’t in the opening ceremony but it’s engines were fired during the guitar solo of Bohemian Rhapsody.
