‘Red Dawn’ Trailer

FilmDistrict has released the trailer from the much delayed remake “Red Dawn,” which stars Chris Hemsworth, Josh Peck, Josh Hutcherson, Adrianne Palicki, Isabel Lucas, Connor Cruise and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

In Red Dawn, a city in Washington state awakens to the surreal sight of foreign paratroopers dropping from the sky – shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target. Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation. Determined to fight back, a group of young patriots seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganizing themselves into a guerilla group of fighters. Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors, and take back their freedom.

Finally the “Red Dawn” is set to hit theaters on November 2, 2012.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think…I honestly think it doesn’t look too bad.  But then again it’s just the trailer and trailers always tend to fool you.

It looks pretty good! I love the small town vibe at the beginning. And the para trooping scene gave me goosebumps! Will watch this!

This may be a remake but the concept is very underused in modern movies so I welcome it. It may even get some of these morons that walk around thinking that America is protected by some kind of Force Field to get their heads out of their asses.

And when do you plan on fixing the release date?

I heard that initially the invaders were the Communist Chinese. But, then it was changed because we couldn’t ‘offend’ our biggest trading partner, so now it’s the North Koreans that invade us. It made more sense having the Chinese invade us. They do have the potential to launch something of that magnitude, but the North Koreans don’t. Go figure.

  • A_Wise_Man

It has to be politically correct…I still wonder why we trade with communist scumbags like China…

Of course N Korea is just as bad, but they lack the power to be capable of an invasion.

Guys i’m sorry, maybe it’s because i’m a 41 year old guy who works in Washington DC for the Govt. and served in the military but this film looks unbelievable cheesy and unrealistic even with them giving North Korea a “superweapon” which tries to explain why they are able to invade us.
Even if i gave them THAT, there is still the whole High School kids versus trained military commandos thing that makes me slap my forehead!
For people Just looking for pure entertainment i’m sure the movie will be a great time but i just can’t bring myself to look at it that way.

Meh, think Vietnam. The American military was defeated by very similar guerrilla attacking styles by mostly untrained Vietcong. Just cus you have been trained better, doesn’t mean you can’t be defeated. Hell, if you look back through history, it is generally the more professional armies that get defeated. The Nazis, the Roman Empire, pretty much anyone that has the prettier costume to fight in.

  • shogunmaster

You trade with those ‘communist scumbags like China’ because you destroyed your economy and China was nice enough to loan you money so you aren’t living in a fourth world country. The arrogance and ignorance of Americans is just atrocious sometimes. I sometimes can’t wait for China to call in their loans so that America sees what it really feels like to be like the countries they’ve exploited so long to be ‘Number 1′.

    Check brain at the door!
    Blow shit up!
    America the underdogs!
    Blow more shit up!!
    America wins!!!
Connor Cruise gets bullet to the head!
    Everyone wins!!!
    Hollywood at its best!!

  • myclawismypenis

You do realize that there is a large population of chinese in the US..and they are contributing just as much as you and I.

  • myclawismypenis

there are different opinions on how and why our economy is in the shitter and why its taking its not so sweet time to equilibrate again…but you are correct in that China has an economic hold on the US that would be devastating if they ever wanted to tighten the noose.

  • myclawismypenis

It wasnt realistic then, and its not realistic now.

  • randomironicname

If no one yells “Wolverines” I am going to shit on the floor before I leave the theater.

  • A_Wise_Man

Im not hating on Chinese people, they are very dedicated and hard working people. Its the government in China that oppresses its people that I hate.

  • A_Wise_Man

Im not talking about the economy im talking about the The Communist government there that abuses the people. And the US doesn’t exploit anyone, the communist government there does get your facts straight.

  • A_Wise_Man

Maybe, but its just for fun, and tbh the way we are going out technology will be surpassed by the Chinese if we don’t get out act together soon.

Again, you prove how stupid and unwise u are, staple ur mouth shut, ignorance is bliss.

  • myclawismypenis

    I gotcha.

  • myclawismypenis

Well, gov funded research is getting the shit kicked out of them at the moment.

  • myclawismypenis

Fun and entertaining..yes, I enjoyed the original..and if the remake is done well, I should enjoy it as well.

Connor doesn’t die in this one… maybe in the sequel…

  • http://www.facebook.com/MichaelRobertSmith Michael Smith

It happens. Josh Hutcherson yells it while on top of a building after shooting stuff up. Unfortunately, it comes off laughable as all heck.

  • http://www.facebook.com/MichaelRobertSmith Michael Smith

The Paratrooper scene in the actual film *might* be the best part. It is pretty intense. The movie plays best when it’s not trying to recreate moments from the original.

  • myclawismypenis

I should have known better anyway mate! Next time I will allocate a little more to the grey matter.

Damn… his Xenu shield was up :

  • http://www.facebook.com/StephenMCroft Steve Croft

Absolutely correct. Fighting someone on their home turf is a bad idea, they know the land, they have more to lose, they’re going to be fiercer competition. Perfect example with Vietnam, to a lesser degree, Afghanistan, where even after 11 years, they still can’t crush the terrorist forces, how can you when its not a unified army…. and neither is a geurilla force.

  • A_Wise_Man

    NP bro

  • A_Wise_Man

    very true

  • Julia

Something about this movie and that picture above does not feel right. I love movies but this one looks like its going to perpetuate the ignorance that breeds hate in America…….we are good…they are bad…..syndrome. Especially in a time where the country feels so divided politically. I wonder how Asian Americans are gonna feel?
