Yancy Butler is rejoining her Kick-Ass compatriots.

She played the mother of Christopher Mintz-Plasse, a.k.a Red Mist, and the willfully ignorant wife of the big mob boss in the first film.

In Kick-Ass 2 she’ll give Mintz-Plasse a paddle spanking on the butt every time he does something naughty – no, kidding.  Like the first film, expect her motherly role to be a small one.

Butler is somewhat of a mainstay in the superhero adaptation business.

Almost a decade before Kick-Ass, she starred in the cult TNT series Witchblade.  There she played the eponymous character, a New York cop who comes into possession of a magical gauntlet granting her superpowers.

‘Kick-Ass 2’ starts shooting next month in Toronto and New York.
