Who says pretty girls can’t be funny?

Rosamund Pike will star alongside Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in The World’s End, Edgar Wright’s final entry in the self-proclaimed Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz included).

Pike caught the attention of moviegoers in An Education, and later starred in Johnny English Reborn and Wrath of the Titans.  Her next big screen appearance is in Paramount’s Jack Reacher, starring alongside Katie Holmes’ fresh-out-the door ex-hubbie.

World’s End chronicles a single night in the lives of a group of friends who attempt to go on an epic pub crawl.  Since this is a Wright film, expect their drinking excursion to become something entirely fantastical.

Wright has a fortuitous knack for showcasing female talent.  Just look at half the cast of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World – Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anna Kendrick, Alison Pill, and Aubrey Plaza.

Pike is a welcome addition to the Wright-a-verse.
