Is it me or does it seem like certain authors, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, etc., get film adaptations of their work at least once a year?

This year’s Dickens adaptation in Great Expectations, the new international trailer for which you can see below.

It looks like a good respectful film of Dickens’ classic novel. I was on board with the look, feel and mood of it until I heard the line “He has… great expectations.”

Ralph Fiennes and Helena Bonham Carter star in the Mike Newell directed film.
