Universal Pictures is pushing back the release date of 47 Ronin from February 8th, 2013, to Christmas Day, 2013.
Keanu Reeves stars in 47 Ronin, a 3D samurai epic that has already been pushed back once before. Production on the film will resume in London for additional re-shoots and visual effects work. Director Carl Erik Rinsch and crew have been waiting for the Olympics to clear out of London in order to complete the film.
From Universal’s press release, a film synopsis:
“Keanu Reeves leads the cast as Kai, an outcast who joins Oishi, the leader of the 47 Ronin. Together they seek vengeance upon the treacherous overlord who killed their master and banished their kind. To restore honor to their homeland, the warriors embark upon a quest that challenges them with a series of trials that would destroy ordinary warriors.”
