Robert Downey Jr. made a boo-boo today while filming the third entry in the Iron Man series. He injured his ankle during a stunt scene.
According to Marvel Studios, production was delayed while the actor was tended to by doctors. It doesn’t look like too serious an injury, so production is expected to resume sooner rather than later.
Here is Marvel’s official statement:
“Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt. There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates.”
Iron Man 3, the first post-Avengers Marvel film, is written and directed by Shane Black. It will open on May 3rd, 2013.
