Jon Favreau tweeted it, so it must be true.

The feature film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical Jersey Boys is going to hold open call auditions this weekend in Philadelphia and next weekend in New York, which is where the film will shoot in January.

The roles they’re seeking include Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy Devito, and Nick Massi.  If you’ve seen the musical, then those names probably mean something.  If you haven’t, then the only name that should stand out is Frankie Valli.

Isn’t it kinda crazy that they’re looking for anyone to play Valli?  Seems like a big risk for a studio to make in these star-dependent times.
