Where I will forever wonder how Bruce Wayne got from the Lazarus Pit prison to Gotham in a short period of time, I’ve stopped wondering why Thor had to stare at his hammer in a field for 20 minutes before deciding to grab it. There are some movies that just feel like something was cut out, but – you know – maybe we didn’t need it.
Speaking of those moments in ‘The Avengers,’ we finally have a peek at the extended Harry Dean Stanton and Mark Ruffalo Hulk-centric scene where we get a peek into the Hulk’s pathos (in the current cut, all we learn is Banner is always angry).
Is he a big man who turns into a little man or a little man that turns into a big man? Duality, yo, he’s the only character amongst the god, robot man and recently-thawed WWII relic that can ask that question, so it makes total sense.
I can see why they cut the scene though. Considering this 56 seconds is basically what every Hulk movie is about.
Look for more deleted scenes on ‘The Avengers’ DVD and Blu-ray, out Sept. 25th.
