Akinnuoye-Agbaje Will Play Baddie in ‘Thor: The Dark World’

Mr. Eko is back!  And this time he’s going to play a villain!  No matter what side he’s on, actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is a resident bad-ass.

He’s joining the Marvel family in Thor: The Dark World, playing the dual roles of Algrim the Strong and Kurse.

Here’s what he looks like fighting Thor in the comics:

Variety describes the baddie as such:

“Algrim the Strong was the most powerful of a race of Dark Elves, who is coerced by Malekith to fight Thor. After he’s betrayed by Malekith and injured during a battle, Algrim is healed and transformed into a much more powerful being called Kurse, who is twice as a strong as Thor.”

Agbaje displayed his intimidating mug in G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra, The Bourne Identity, and HBO’s Oz.  But his most notable role was on ABC’s Lost as the enigmatic and far-too-short-lived Mr. Eko.

Ha haaaa! Fot two reasons, 1-good call Marvel is taking advantage of his talent and presence he imposes on screen, and secondly it means Black Panther is gong to be played by someone else. And actually 3rd, bigups on the Marvel come-up, this is second African Marvel’s picked up for the Thor franchise, funny coincidence.

I’m happy they are actually picking Africans for the roles and not “black” dudes. You can see the maturity and the respect in this guys demeanor.

Simon Adebesi one of the scariest dudes to ever grace a TV screen!

“the Dark World” has a black man playing the villain? Ooooooo, racist!
