Joss Whedon Talks James Gunn and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m excited to see what James Gunn does with Guardians of the Galaxy. He did a great job writing the remake of Dawn of the Dead and his writing/directing efforts on Slither and Super were awesome.

If you haven’t seen Super, correct that mistake immediately.

I told you it was great.

As I said, Gunn will be tackling Guardians for Marvel. Joss Whedon had a chance to weigh in on this during an interview with MTV, which you can see below.

Basically, Whedon was very happy when Marvel decided to bring Gunn on as director and he trusts Gunn completely.

What do you think of Gunn directing Guardians of the Galaxy?

    Introducing a raccoon to the new cinematic Marvel universe is total disaster.
    Can you imagine Nick Fury briefing the Avengers on board the Heli-Carrier about some ultimate threat, and then a raccoon comes into the room and jumps up on the table?

    I CAN imagine Rocket talking to Nick Fury and it sounds awesome! Its not like Sam Jacksons gonna start into a rendition of Zippeedee doo dah as soon as Rocket shows up. Rockets a badass and it will be awesome to see the Guardians.
